Kytons Bakery

A message from our valued partner Kytons Bakery

Kytons Bakery puddings contain 95% Australian ingredients, are baked right here in Adelaide and are delicious, decadent and award winning. In fact both of our Christmas Puddings recently both picked up a Bronze Medal at the Sydney Royal Fine Food competition – a competition that is open to food manufacturers from all over Australia.

At Kytons we pride ourselves on using the best ingredients as possible and sourcing as many as we can from Australia. This is certainly the case for both Kytons traditional and aged Christmas puddings :

Top grade Australian dried fruit. Many baked goods contain “manufacturing” grade dried fruit, but we only use 4 and 5 Crown fruit – the plumpest, juiciest currants and sultanas in our puddings (and our hot cross buns at Easter time)

Brandy direct from the Barossa – the fruit is then soaked in brandy from the Barossa Valley before we add the fruit mix to the pudding mix – the smell is amazing.

Australian Flour – wheat grown by Australian farmers and milled to make great quality flour.
All these ingredients are combined with just the right festive spice mix to create a moist, fragrant, decadent Christmas pudding.

Kytons Aged vs Traditional Pudding – what is the difference?
Kytons has always made a great Traditional Christmas Pudding – full of great Australian dried fruit and South Australian Brandy. In 2016 we received a silver medal from the Sydney Royal competition and in 2016 & 2017 we were awarded second prize at the Royal Adelaide Show.

Kytons Traditional Christmas Pudding is available in single serve 100g, 230g,  gift pack twin pack and a 700g pudding that we recommend serves 6-10 on Christmas Day when accompanying a hearty meal. Our 100g puddings are also used by many restaurants around Adelaide on their festive menus.

A couple of years ago we decided to make an even better pudding and introduced an AGED Christmas Pudding. Our bakers added MORE top grade fruit, a touch more wonderful Brandy from the Barossa, and made the puddings back in May, so you have six months of maturation (that’s a fancy word for aging) to allow the flavours to develop even more – resulting in an even more decadent pudding. Kytons aged pudding is only available in a 700g serve, enclosed in an attractive gift box and serves 6-10.

Kytons is all about helping to make life special – being part of your family’s memories – so we hope you’ll make a Kytons Christmas Puddings part of your family’s Christmas tradition this Christmas day.

Kytons Christmas pudding are available at most Foodlands, most Drakes Supermarkets, through charity fundraisers, direct from Kytons at Edwardstown, your favourite Kytons stockist or online  (note – not all stockists will have all product lines, so best to check before making a special trip)
