Major (Ret'd) Paul Rosenzweig OAM JP

Retired Army officer, historian and biographer

Paul is a retired Army officer with a total of 32 years’ service. He has also served as an Officer of Cadets in the Army Cadet Corps and today continues to promote youth development as an officer in the Australian Air Force Cadets.

Born in Semaphore, SA, Paul saw military service in northern Australia and extensive regional service including a long commitment to peace and stability in East Timor/Timor Leste and the Philippines.

Paul is in his fourth decade of contributing to the community as an author of military history and biography (he was awarded the 2001 Centenary Medal for “long and outstanding research into Australia’s military history”). He has actively supported various historical societies and ex-service organisations through the contribution of quality research papers and biographical profiles. He is currently involved in an ongoing project documenting the involvement of Filipino-Australians in Australia’s military history. Paul has also run Anzac Heritage courses to promote an understanding of the Spirit of Anzac among Australian youth.

Since being medically discharged from the Army in 2011, he has actively promoted commemoration and reverent reflection through his Facebook site ‘Thanks Digger’.

‘Thanks Digger’ is increasingly becoming an effective portal for collaborative research with families, young Australians and organisations both nationally and internationally, and for promoting research outcomes.
